1910s African American with Baptist Preacher Certificate St. Louis MO Photo

  

Contrast so light on the certificate that I'm unable to discern if it's a donor's certificate or preacher's license. From his forward stance and commanding gaze it's easy to feel his pride in either case. 6 x 9 folder backing w/ split and loss to paper mat. Photographer's imprint (Sexton Studios) dates this to the late 1910s.
