Dapper young men in a power pose / handshake against a sedan advertising the newspaper w/ Pittsburgh Courier newspaper bags. Heavy wear w/ creases, emulsion flakes and two stabilized (rice starch archival tape) edge tears. Identified July 1939 w/ owner or photographer's name penciled reverse.
Instantly iconic & appears to be unpublished. Found w/ a beautiful pose of three young staffers waving from their departing convertible. 8 x 10 w/ thumb creases, toning to margins & two small circular impressions that affect headlight.Very light emulsion cracking to uneven margins & small chip top left. Again w/ a penciled name (possibly the first's husband). The identity of the owners and also of the photographer is very worthy of expert research. Famed Pittsburgh photographer Teenie Harris joined the Courier staff as a principal photographer also in 1939. Neither image is signed or attributed other than the owners marks.
