Arnett Country Store primitive Laura Beth AFRICAN Folk Resin Doll vintage 11/250. Signed on back, Limited edition.

Resin out of wood mold, Clothes condition excellent, no tears, no breaks. Just a small bit of aging around the lace collar of her dress. She is a beautiful piece of folk art, vintage, and a must have! The original of this doll was carved by Maynard Arnett.

It has been reproduced in wood resin and hand painted. The clothes have been aged to give the look of an old well loved doll. It is an limited edition from Arnett's Country Store, DA, NA. Her eyes are a beautiful brown, with the whites of the eyes visible - and even a slight glimmer achieved within the pupils.

This doll is named "Laura Beth" as evidenced on her back, along with the numbers 37 out of a Limited Edition Series of 250. She is signed both on the back of her torso and the back of her head. This doll is a genuine piece of Arnett's Country Store.

My favorite element of this doll, is beyond a doubt her lovely face. The precision that went into carving her facial features is so beautifully on point. Sarah Beth bears a soft, little smile - her lush pink lips and cheeks carefully blushed ever so slightly. Her nose is cute, small, like that of a real life child. Her eyebrows are arched, somewhat inquisitively. Her hands are delicately carved, with the nails painted a soft pink. These dolls as mentioned before are entirely hand painted. The paint is thick and high quality, allowing for a beautiful array of hues in her skin tone. Overall, this truly is a one of a kind collector's piece.

As noted earlier, I believe it is the only of its kind offered for sale in all of the online resale world. She numbers just 37 of 250 - making her one of the first created in the series. She is HEAVY, substantial, hand carved, hand painted.

She is the real deal. My hope is that this beautiful work of Black Americana Folk Art goes to someone who will keep it in the family. Someone who may one day pass Pearl along to a child of their own. The back of Laura Beth's head is stamped "MA" for Maynard Arnet. Measurements: 24 Inches when laid out.

Top of head (not including hair or bow) to sole of shoes. 13 Inches when seated (she will indeed sit up, and stay in that position) Great weight of a doll and beautifully crafted.
