In America and the city of Memphis. He studied art at the Memphis College of Art, and later in pursuit of a Master's degree at the University of Memphis.Eventually, he refurbished and and restored a derelict building on Main Street, creating the Art Village Gallery, and he led in the establishment of a vibrant arts community for the Bluff City in the shadow of the National Civil Rights Museum.
