RARE Baseball History Photo African American Players WICHITA KANSAS RATTLERS

  

Very rare, museum quality 1890s tintype of two African American baseball players! These men were teammates on the Rattlers, an all-black baseball team out of. The players are in full uniform with the seated one holding a bat. Charley Strawn (Pitcher - 1896 to 1897). Sam Collins (Shortstop & Catcher - 1900).

Fred Holton Left Fielder, Pitcher, First Base & Catcher - 1896. Frank Kennedy (Center Field - 1900).

Kendall Pitcher - 1900 - He had one arm. Tintype is about 3.25" x 2.5" with light bends and light surface wear. My scans of tintypes always seems to come out darker than how the original. Images appear in bright lighting or daylight. In proper lighting this tintype.

Looks very good, definitely nicer than my scan.
