Rare Original Surreal Lithograph Print by Celebrated African American Artist Louis Jessup Delsarte III (September 1, 1944 - May 2, 2020)??? Step into the extraordinary world of acclaimed artist Louis Jessup Delsarte III, known for his mesmerizing and "illusionistic" style that has captivated art enthusiasts worldwide.

Delsarte, an African American artist, left an indelible mark on the art world as a painter, muralist, printmaker, and illustrator, celebrated for his complex and layered figurative works. Original Surreal Lithograph - A Testament to Delsarte's Artistry. Features Complex and Layered Figures. Depicts an African American Baby Suspended by Umbilical Cord. In Front of an Empty Picture Frame.

Paper: Hamilton Andorra Text - A Unique and High-Quality Canvas. Drawn Directly on Lithograph Plates by Louis Delsarte. Expertly Printed at Pratt Institute in 1966 for Lincoln Center by Carl Grassini. Part of a Limited Edition of 500 Copies. Born in Brooklyn, New York, to Louis Delsarte II and Llewellyn Johnston Delsarte, both educators, Delsarte's artistic journey was deeply rooted in his upbringing and the rich cultural tapestry of his surroundings.

He was immersed in music, including jazz, opera, musicals, and the blues, which greatly influenced his work. Delsarte pursued his passion for art by receiving a certificate in Fine Arts Education from Brooklyn College, a bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from Pratt Institute, and a master's degree in Fine Arts at the University of Arizona. His commitment to the arts led him to become a professor of Fine Arts at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia, where he shared his knowledge and passion with students. Delsarte's exceptional works have been showcased in solo and group exhibitions at prestigious venues across the United States. His art has graced the walls of the Studio Museum in Harlem, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, and many others.

In 2001, Delsarte created a monumental public mural entitled "Transitions" at the Church Avenue station in Brooklyn, New York. His art also found a place on a U. Postal Service stamp, celebrating the march from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama.

Delsarte's artistic style is marked by its chaotic abstraction and disciplined figuration. His paintings exhibit a complex, layered appearance, enlivened with rapid strokes in vibrant colors. His technique reflects a concern for synthesizing the unpredictable and irrational aspects of art-making with the discipline of representational images.

This lithograph is not just a piece of art; it's a historical artifact that was part of a sponsorship by the Repertory group at Lincoln Center, supporting a "young" program of graphic design carried out by undergraduate students, alumni of the Department of Graphic Art & Design, and students from the Pratt Graduate School of Fine Arts. It's a testament to the stimulus towards new images and creativity that arose from this unique project. Don't miss the opportunity to own a piece of Louis Jessup Delsarte III's extraordinary artistic legacy, made in 1966 as part of the same series as other Pratt Institute works. This extremely rare and limited edition masterpiece exemplifies Delsarte's unique style.

Stand out with this extraordinary lithograph - a masterpiece of illusionistic artistry. In Memoriam: Louis Jessup Delsarte III, an artistic visionary, whose work continues to inspire.
